What counts as an emergency
Anything that stops you from treating patients safely:
- Sterilizer or autoclave failure that halts instrument turnover
- Total loss of compressed air or suction
- Dental chair stuck, unresponsive, or unsafe to seat a patient in
- Water leaks from the delivery unit, chair base or waterlines
- Electrical faults, tripping breakers or burning smells
- Handpieces failing across multiple operatories at once
- Vacuum pump overheating or shutting down under load
If you are unsure whether it qualifies, call anyway. A five-minute conversation often identifies something you can safely work around until a scheduled visit.
How emergency callouts work
We come to your clinic. Emergency repairs are carried out on site across Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, during our working hours of Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00 and Saturday 11:00 to 15:00.
The technician diagnoses the fault, and where the cause is a seal, valve, filter, fuse or similar serviceable part, the repair is usually completed on the same visit. Where a model-specific component has to be ordered, expect around two weeks depending on manufacturer and distributor availability in Canada. We will tell you that timeline before you authorise the work.
Loaner equipment is sometimes available while a repair is under way, subject to availability. Ask when you call.
